'Record' funding settlement for Scottish councils

Scottish councils are expected to share a ‘record’ funding settlement of more than £15bn, provisional allocations have shown.

Scottish councils are expected to share a ‘record' funding settlement of more than £15bn, provisional allocations have shown.

The 2025-26 settlement included a £289m increase in funding to be used by councils to ‘meet local needs', £120.5m additional funding for pay deals and a one-off £40m to ‘help councils respond to the climate emergency'.
