Senior council figures and mayors have held emergency crisis talks with central government in a bid to quell far-right riots hitting the country.

Senior council figures and mayors have held emergency crisis talks with central government in a bid to quell far-right riots hitting the country. 

The R9 chief executives – nine regional representatives – and council chiefs from affected areas met with Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government officials, while mayors from across the country have held talks with Downing Street to discuss a response.
