Residents trust their local councils, survey finds

Nearly two-thirds of residents say they trust their local council, with 72% satisfied with the way public services are run, according to a new survey from the Local Government Association (LGA).

The Government abolished many targets and inspections for local government in order to save over £1bn and reduce the burden on local councils. This survey is part of an appraisal exercise by the LGA to asses if this sector-led approach has the support of councils, Government and the general public.
