Rough sleeping numbers increase by a fifth

The number of people estimated to be sleeping rough has increased by a fifth, Government figures have shown.

The number of people estimated to be sleeping rough has increased by a fifth, Government figures have shown.

There were 4,667 people sleeping rough on a single night in autumn 2024 – an increase of 770 people on the 2023 rough sleeping snapshot estimate and more than double (164%) the number in 2010 when records began.
