Salary: Grade M, £56,127-£61,524 - Permanent post - Full time

Salary: Grade M, £56,127-£61,524 - Permanent post - Full time

The Royal Borough of Kingston has a strong reputation in providing excellent Street Services, working hard to keep the borough clean, safe and attractive for residents and visitors alike.

We have recently brought together our highways assets, maintenance, street scene and streetworks permitting teams to create a new multidisciplinary team.

We're now looking for an experienced manager to lead this team and further enhance these services.

With a budget of £5.5m per annum, Street Services are high profile and front line, with customer service at their heart. From managing high value roads maintenance, street lighting and winter maintenance contracts, to overseeing the Council's recently established streetworks permitting team, you'll be responsible for a broad range of universal services.

Highway services are delivered in partnership through the new London Highways Alliance Contract (LoHAC), whilst street lighting services are offered through an existing longterm contract. As the contracts' named Service Manager you'll ensure these contracts deliver, not just for Street Services, but for a broad range of other highway-related services.

Looking ahead, the Council is currently considering options to recommission a suite of environmental services, including those that are part of Street Services. The route this will take will shortly be decided at Committee, but exciting times lie ahead; this recommissioning will provide further opportunities to reshape and improve our services and respond to the current financial challenge.

We need an inspirational and experienced manager who can demonstrate working knowledge of the range of services involved, along with practical experience of commissioning, contract and performance management, and NEC3 contracts.

You'll embrace change, be adept at stakeholder engagement and take a proactive approach to communicating with members, staff and the public. You'll have a track record of successful achievement in a similar senior management role, and be able to demonstrate specific examples of excellent service and financial management.
