Scotland leads the way in tackling UK housing shortage

Mark Robinson says the rest of the UK should take a lesson from Scotland on tackling the housing crisis.

Like the rest of the UK, Scotland is facing a severe housing crisis. Current figures estimate 23,000 new homes a year are required to meet demand, including 9,000 affordable homes.

Philip Hogg, chief executive of industry body Homes for Scotland, recently warned that the failure to put roofs over people's heads was costing the Scottish economy £2bn lost economic output.
