Councils have accused the Scottish Government of using ‘deflection tactics’ after a top minister urged them to get on board with childcare plans.

Councils have accused the Scottish Government of using ‘deflection tactics' after a top minister urged them to get on board with childcare plans.

It comes after deputy first minister John Swinney appealed for councils' help to introduce an effective full-time approach to childcare by the end of the decade.
