Sector 'struggling' to recruit and keep staff

Annual employment survey shows image problems make recruitment and retention increasingly difficult for public sector.

Public sector organisations are facing increasing difficulties in recruiting and retaining staff, with the sector's image having a negative impact, according to an annual employment survey.

Published on 20 June, the annual Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)/Hays survey polled more than 500 employers and found 38% of public sector respondents reported difficulties filling managerial and specialist posts.
