SENIOR AUDITOR

Salary: £30, 851 - £33,661 + essential car user allowance

Use your flair for completing audit assignments in a timely and professional manner to support the smooth running of our Council. Fully conversant with the CIPFA Code of Practice for Internal Audit in Local Government, you will conduct in-depth risk based audits of the Council's financial systems, procedures, and other systems relating to the control of assets, income, and expenditure. This role involves working with colleagues at all levels within the organisation and preparing internal audit reports after completion of each audit assignment and making recommendations to enhance internal controls and reduce risks.

We're looking for someone with excellent knowledge and experience of applying risk based internal auditing techniques and principles within a Local Authority. You will have the ability to scope and plan audit reviews through to high quality completion of the working papers and audit report. You must have a good understanding of council financial and contract procedure rules, be computer literate, with excellent oral and written communication skills, a team player and able to meet deadlines. You'll also bring a professional qualification from the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or qualification from the Institute of Internal Auditors (PIIA/MIIA) or similar.
