Adult social care will need extra funding whether the Government's planned tax hike goes ahead or not, the chair of the Special Interest Group of Municipal Authorities (SIGOMA) has said.
Sir Stephen Houghton's comments came as Prime Minister Boris Johnson's former Brexit chief Lord Frost joined ex-Cabinet minister David Davis in calling for the Government to ditch the national insurance contributions (NIC) increase planned for April as a way to fund the NHS and social care.
