We're all aware there are many financial challenges as the care provision sector grapples with the challenges of austerity and new service delivery priorities.
But there are few larger than the one looming in the area of social care. Indeed, Heather Wheeler, a member of the Conservative 1992 backbench committee and chair of the all party group on local government, has called for urgent re-examination of the NHS budget to take account of the funding shortfall in social care which will get worse given the continuing rise in the average age of the population.
