Squaring the circle?

The level of service demand and demographic trends faced by North Yorkshire are thought to be where councils will stand in 2020. Richard Webb explains how the region is targeting prevention and what national changes must take place to support care

North Yorkshire is England's largest county and, although I am biased, one of its most beautiful, with two National Parks and a spectacular coastline. 

People like to retire to North Yorkshire. The population is ageing and over half of older people in the county live in the most rural areas. By 2021 those living over the age of 85 will have increased by one-third.
