The steepest climb in council tax in 15 years in Wales will take place in 2019/20, the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) has found.
CIPFA said there would be an average council tax increase of 6.5% or £97.01, although this masks regional differences, with the average band D bill in South Wales rising by 5.7% while householders in mid and west Wales face a ‘striking' 8.1% increase.
