A strange dietary motion

Councillors in Wales have ducked out of a vote that could have required them to declare whether they ate steak or eggs.

Ahead of the vote on whether to encourage communities to eat more red meat to support local livestock farmers, Powys' politicians were left asking whether they should declare an interest if they ‘sometimes ate steak or eggs'.

Plaid Cymru group leader Elwyn Vaughan called the motion ‘odd'.
