Call to tackle children's services 'postcode lottery'

National standards are needed to tackle variation in the quality of children’s services, the House of Lords' Public Services Committee has heard.

Calls have been made for national standards to tackle variation in the quality of children's services.

Chair of the Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel, Annie Hudson, told the House of Lords' Public Services Committee that a ‘postcode lottery' existed between different council areas.
