Vested interests at the top of trade unions are leading to a lack of productivity and quality in public services, according to a new report from the Policy Exchange.
Better Public Services: A roadmap for revolution calls for politicians to stand up to 'militant trade unionists' and remove the state's monopoly provision of public services. It also calls for allowing private companies and voluntary groups to compete in an 'open and transparent process, with people having the legal right to exercise choice in the public services they use.
