Conservative backbenchers are pushing ministers to scrap ‘top-down housing targets imposed by the Government'.

Tory MP for Sittingbourne and Sheppey, Gordon Henderson, is among those who have backed a new clause to the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill that would ‘prohibit mandatory targets'.
