Nearly two thousand women have been awarded a share of £12m following an equal pay case against Scottish councils.

Nearly two thousand women have been awarded a share of £12m following an equal pay case against Scottish councils.

The Supreme Court has ruled in favour of the Unison members in the seven-year case of North & Others v Dumfries and Galloway Council. More than 20 councils had argued that women should only get equal pay compensation if they worked at the same location as their make comparators.
