An independent review will be held following May’s local elections to gauge the impact of new voter ID requirements.

An independent review will be held following May's local elections to gauge the impact of new voter ID requirements.

The pledge was made by communities minister Baroness Scott as the House of Lords voted in favour of introducing the new requirements in the next elections though she stopped short of meeting demands for a new select committee to investigate the impact.
