Westminster to face Holyrood in court

The UK Government claims two proposed Scottish laws designed to protect councils and children undermine its sovereignty.

Westminster and Holyrood are to face one another in court amid accusations two proposed Scottish laws will undermine UK sovereignty.

The Scottish Parliament unanimously voted in favour of two Bills that enshrined the UN convention on the rights of the child and the European charter of local self-government into law.
