My local council hasn't put up its council tax in years. Don't ask me what it's done with all these expensive old people. Must all be in beds in sheds.

But my point is if my council can do it then why can't all the others. Instead, the moment they get the nod from the Government councils all rush like lemmings to put their council tax up as high as they can and never mind whether the poor old punters, the public, who haven't had a decent pay rise in years, can afford it, they've just got to lump it.
