Why is it whenever there's a burst of hot or cold weather councils decide to treat us like four-year-olds?
Last week when we were hitting the dizzy heights of 32°C – an average summer's day if you live in Spain – the nannies went into overdrive like this one from my local council. If you get hot, they advised, have a drink of water. If the room is too sunny draw the curtains. Don't wear a fur overcoat or drainpipe jeans, wear light, loose clothes.
