Government pilots could be launched on improving individual electoral registration (IER) through big data as momentum builds behind alternative models of voter processing.

Gareth Baynham-Hughes, programme director of electoral registration transformation at the Cabinet Office, this week said the power of big data had not ‘really been explored in terms of registration' and the Government was looking to work on ‘pilot schemes on big data in the future'.
