Something wicked this way comes

Public accountability is sharpening as the cash gets tighter and tighter, which means 'wicked' issues around sector led improvement must be solved, writes Mark Rogers.

The sector led improvement debate is rejuvenating and exploring new avenues (at least I hope they're avenues as I've had my fill of cul-de-sacs and other dead ends).

Self-regulation and improvement aren't a universal panacea. There aren't many out there who don't see a role for risk-based, proportionate and, above all, consistently high quality diagnostic inspection (dream, baby, dream). But, for the do-it-to-ourselves approach to gain maximum traction, there are some wicked issues to tackle.
