York appoints first chief operating officer

Ian Floyd has been announced as the new chief operating officer at York City Council.

Ian Floyd has been announced as the new chief operating officer at York City Council.

The appointment is the first since the authority moved from a chief executive model to a chief operating officer in an effort to save money and provide ‘greater focus on operational delivery and service coordination'.
