EXCLUSIVE: Ministers pile pressure on councils to find homes for Afghan refugees

Councils are struggling to find permanent homes for refugees from Afghanistan as ministers pile on the pressure.

A letter from refugees minister Lord Harrington sent to council chief executives urged local authorities to ‘increase the number of pledges and offers of accommodation’ for Afghans who fled when the Taliban returned to power.
