Manchester City Council leader, Cllr Bev Craig, has been confirmed as the new leader of the Labour group at the Local Government Association (LGA).

The LGA's Labour team made the expected announcement on 8 July. It follows the appointment last week of Cllr Louise Gittins, leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, as new LGA chair.
