Mayors call for a 'decade of devolution'

England's metro mayors this week demanded a ‘decade of devolution' – including roll-out of multi-year single funding pots – if the Labour government is to deliver its key missions.

The MJ has seen briefing notes prepared by the twelve regional mayors ahead of their meeting with new Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and his deputy, Angela Rayner, on 9 July.
