A former councillor has been given permission to legally challenge government Voter ID schemes at the Supreme Court.
Former Braintree DC councillor Neil Coughlan believes requiring voters to produce specific identification on polling day is unjust and would affect marginalised groups, which - as the Windrush scandal showed – do not always have easy access to documentation.
