I’ve heard numerous conversations taking place about the structure of various organisations and industries – sustainability and transformation plans, local enterprise partnerships, etc. What I am less clear about is the actual strategy for local government. Is now where we will always be?

What does Government think the role of local government is? What do our democratic representatives, communities, residents, business and we as employees, think it is? Each of these groups would have a different response.
