Councillors in Wrexham have avoided the threat of jail by approving a development plan – but some claimed that the legal warning made a mockery of local democracy.

Members at Wrexham Council voted on 20 December to adopt a local development plan that a judge had ordered should be approved following a judicial review by developers last month.
