It's time for a 'big bang' to fix our workforce

The local government workforce has changed dramatically in recent decades.

A ‘job for life' may have been commonplace for our grandparents' generation, but a ‘job for now' – even several jobs and contracts at a time – is increasingly normal in 2024.
