Birmingham City Council has appointed current interim chief Deborah Cadman to the role permanently, it has announced.

Ms Cadman took on the role as an interim just over a year ago, following a series of interims and short term appointments to the post. A Birmingham native, she worked at the council in the early part of her 30-year public service career.She joined Birmingham as chief executive from the top job at the West Midlands Combined Authority.
