Bristol’s mayor has been urged to confront the prime minister over the city council’s ‘dire financial situation’ after it was forced to offer its staff voluntary redundancy.

Bristol's mayor has been urged to confront the prime minister over the city council's ‘dire financial situation' after it was forced to offer its staff voluntary redundancy.

In a bid to save £29m, Bristol City Council has proposed reducing its number of full-time roles by approximately 1,000.
