Changes to government policy on public sector exit payments are ‘unduly punitive,' according to the trade union for council chief executives.

In evidence to a parliamentary committee, the Association of Local Authority Chief Executives (ALACE) called on Whitehall to rethink changes to the Enterprise Bill, which would impose a £95,000 cap on exit payments.
