Care chief calls for cash to be protected

Social care funding must be protected and aligned with the NHS, the incoming president of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) has said.

Social care funding must be protected and aligned with the NHS, the incoming president of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) said today. 

Ray James called for central government to fill the £4.3bn gap in social care funding by 2020. He also said personal budgets were ‘central to the agenda' and urged the further development of local health and wellbeing boards.
