A collaborative, online platform for sharing learning, information and good practice has been launched to help all those involved in integrated care and implementing effective Better Care Fund programmes.
The Better Care Exchange is a learning hub that brings together the expertise and knowledge of leading organisations and individuals from across the health and social care sector.
Free to use, the Exchange will help users to:
- Interact with national experts and ask for support
- Access insight and good practice aimed at overcoming barriers to delivering Better Care
- Keep up-to-date and contribute to relevant content and resources
- Participate in online discussions and share learning as part of a social network.
Hundreds of users have already signed up to the Exchange, and are accessing the variety of materials available. These include, the four ‘How To' guides that were published in April to support those leading and managing better care implementation programmes.
Featuring over 400 documents and videos from leading organisations, there is also an instant chat feature and discussion groups for key topics of interest.
Specialist consultancy PPL helped develop the Exchange, along with partners from the Social Care Institute for Excellence, KPMG and the Berkeley Partnership in collaboration with experts, practitioners, service users and carers.
PPL co-founders Claire Kennedy and Simon Morioka are delighted with the response to the Exchange so far: 'We are working with localities up and down the country to design and implement person-centred, better care programmes.
'The Exchange is a platform for sharing the wealth of knowledge, insights and good practice that we have in the system, helping practitioners get integrated care programmes off the ground and deliver better care for patients.'
