Central Bedfordshire Council chief executive Richard Carr has announced he will retire at the end of this year after 25 years as a chief executive.

Writing to staff and partners, Mr Carr said he had intended to step down after his 60^th birthday next month, but had postponed his decision due to the pandemic.
