Chief executive to retire after 43 years

The chief executive of Durham Council, Terry Collins, has announced his retirement following a 43-year career in local government.

The chief executive of Durham Council, Terry Collins, has announced his retirement following a 43-year career in local government.

Mr Collins joined Durham in 2009 as corporate director for neighbourhoods and has been chief executive for five years.
