The leader of Northumberland CC has defended a decision to reinstate the role of chief executive less than two years after it was scrapped.

The leader of Northumberland CC has defended a decision to reinstate the role of chief executive less than two years after it was scrapped.

Lead executive Steve Mason will get a £17,000 pay rise after the role was brought back with a salary of £183,232.
