Chief executives will get access to the guidance, knowledge and support they need

Amid uncertainty about Brexit and the future funding for local government, it is clear we are all operating in challenging, changeable times and that this is likely to remain the case for the foreseeable future.  So what type of leadership is needed?

It has never been more important that the sector improves the way we not only prepare individuals for leadership roles, particularly chief executives, but support them in the role on an ongoing basis. While it is vital we ensure everyone has access to essential knowledge and ‘know how' from the very start, it is equally essential that that support remains in place so that we are all able to successfully adapt and respond to changing circumstances.
