CIPFA calls for social care reform

A call has been made to the Government to end a ‘vicious cycle' in social care causing pressure to mount on council finances.

The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) said ‘decades of short-term fixes' and ‘vicious cycles of inaction' had brought the system to crisis point in its response to the Health and Social Care Committee's inquiry into Adult Social Care.
