Communities secretary Greg Clark has publicly rejected calls from the sector to frontload cash to flatten out the U-shape of the local government finance settlement.

Responding to calls to bring forward some of the cash from years three and four of the settlement at last week's councillors' forum, Mr Clark said there ‘simply is not the money'.
