Jeremy Corbyn has kicked off his party's local election campaign by attacking the Government's academisation plans, austerity policies and failure to address the country's housing and steel problems.

Speaking in Harlow with just one month until voters go to the polls, Mr Corbyn claimed electing Labour councils was the best way to protect against a Conservative ‘onslaught'.
