Last week we gathered together with some of local government's finest for The MJ Future Forum, for a packed 24-hours of examining local government.

What is clear from the variety of speakers was just how massive the agenda facing councils is right now. No change there, then. But what is perhaps more of a surprise is how little the Queen's Speech – issued earlier in the week – addressed the main issues and captured the zeitgeist of the Forum.
