Council exit payments halved

The Government has revealed exit payments by English councils have more than halved in the last seven years.

The Government has revealed exit payments by English councils have more than halved in the last seven years.

New figures released by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) show the total amount paid out to exiting staff during 2020-21 was £252,440,676 compared with £517,103,453 in 2014-15.
