Councils should not ‘overly collude' with the ‘flagellation that sometimes comes from the centre' on their state of governance, according to a London borough chief executive.
The comments from chief executive of Sutton LBC, Helen Bailey, came at the launch of a toolkit for local authorities on governance, which has been published jointly by think-tank Localis and the Centre for Governance and Scrutiny.
