Councils receive £250m 'shot in the arm' for SEND services

The Government has pledged an extra £250m to councils to spend on services for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

The Government has pledged an extra £250m to councils to spend on services for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Education secretary Damian Hinds said the funds, to be released over the next two years in addition to the £6bn already provided for the high needs budget this year, would provide specialist support and tailored facilities.
