Nine councils to receive £300m in SEND deficit deals

The authorities have reached agreements with the Government to wipe out their special educational needs (SEND) deficits.

Nine councils have reached agreements with the Government totalling more than £300m to wipe out their special educational needs (SEND) deficits.

The authorities are among those with the most substantial deficits in their ring-fenced Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) budgets and will receiving funding in exchange for reforming services.
