Cumbria announces chief executive appointment

John Metcalfe, currently chief executive at Isle of Wight Council, is to take on the role.

Cumbria CC has announced the appointment of John Metcalfe as its new chief executive.

Mr Metcalfe takes over from Gill Steward, who stepped down in December after just four months in the role.
